When Nature Plays With Colors, Pearls Join In

White pearls spaced along a brown leather necklace on autumn leaf-patterned fabric, with orange and burgundy flowers in the background.

Who Said Pearls Don't Belong in Autumn?

When we think of pearls, what usually comes to mind? A little black dress? A wedding? Something elegant and perhaps a little formal?

Well, I have a different picture in my head.

Pearls scattered along brown leather. A handful of colorful bracelets resting on an old piece of wood. Bright orange, yellow, and burgundy flowers in the background.

And suddenly, pearls look completely at home in autumn!

Nature has never been afraid of mixing things up.

Just look at fall flowers. Orange next to burgundy, yellow next to brown, green leaves everywhere. If someone described that color combination to me without showing it, I might have my doubts. But nature puts it all together, and it's beautiful.

I think jewelry can work the same way.

A perfectly round white pearl is beautiful, of course. But so is an irregular pink pearl with its own little personality. Or a dark Tahitian pearl that changes from green to gray to chocolate depending on the light.

I love pairing them with leather, especially in its natural brown shades. The leather is earthy and a little rustic. The pearls are luminous and delicate. They are completely different materials, but somehow they understand each other.

And then comes autumn, with all its wild colors, and makes the combination even better.

Maybe that's what I love most about creating jewelry.

I don't have to follow a rule that says pearls must be formal, or that every piece has to look perfectly polished.

I can make a necklace that looks wonderful with jeans and a sweater. Or a stack of pearl bracelets that feels just as natural with a cozy cardigan as it does with a summer dress.

And sometimes, when I'm supposed to be photographing jewelry for my shop, I find myself simply admiring the colors instead.

That's exactly what happened with these photos.

No big fashion statement. Just pearls, leather, autumn flowers, and a little inspiration from nature.

And I think they look wonderful together.
